How Wearables Connect to MyLabInsight

MyLabInsight reads your health data through the secure health platforms built into your phone — Apple Health (HealthKit) on iOS and Android Health Connect on Android. Most watches and home devices already sync to those platforms through their own apps. Once your device’s app shares data with Apple Health or Health Connect, MyLabInsight can read it (with your permission) and display safe, educational trends.

Quick view: MyLabInsight does not connect directly to each device. The typical flow is:

Apple: Device/App → Apple Health → MyLabInsight
Android: Device/App → Health Connect (via the brand’s app) → MyLabInsight

What Data Can Sync

Supported categories include steps, activity minutes, sleep duration/stages, heart rate, resting heart rate (RHR), heart-rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen (SpO₂), weight/body composition, and blood pressure. Availability varies by device and app permissions.

Apple / iOS Connections (HealthKit)

On iPhone, go to each device’s app settings and enable “Allow to write to Health” and “Allow to read in Health.” Then open MyLabInsight and grant read access to the same data types.

Granting Permissions

  1. Connect device → brand app (e.g., Samsung Health, Health Mate, Omron Connect).
  2. Turn on platform sharing (Apple Health or Health Connect) inside the brand app.
  3. Open MyLabInsight → Data Sources and grant read access to the same data types.

Privacy Note

MyLabInsight reads data locally from Apple Health or Health Connect with your permission. Data stays on your device; MyLabInsight does not upload your personal health data to a cloud service.
